Owner Comments on the RhinoPak
2000 Review |

Just wanted to let you know that I use this Rhino Skin 2000 for my Nikon
CoolPix 990 instead of a Palm Pilot. I use a Body Glove Neoprene case
for the Palm. I saw a cool review on Rhino Skin's web site and decided
to try it for my digital camera. The only thing is it isn't too great
for imediate access due to those straps. They take a bit to place on the
camera. I also would have like to see an optional neck strap for it or
top loading option for easy removal.
Anyway, love your web site.

This case has the 'outdoors' look, and seemed big enough for a few extras.
I bought the Precision Navigator compass module at the same time, and spend
most of my off-time exploring the world on my ST1100 motorcycle.
I found a vendor in the Toronto area (Handheld Interfaces, Inc.,
http://www.handheldinterfaces.com) who
made me great deal on the now
discontinued green (ach! not me favorite color, but the price was right!)
version.
The black ones were in stock, but much more money (something about more
padding or something). Now, with about 1000 miles on the unit, traveling in
rain,
dust, etc. it is still going strong. Having extra batteries, storage for credit
cards
and several other compartments are great. I've put away my wallet for good!
I think this case, in whatever color, will accommodate the more active users of
the Palm/PDA crowd.

After reading through the reviews for all of the cases I decided to give
the RhinoPak 2000 a try. I was pleased to find that RhinoPak offered
slightly blemished cases as one of their Specials for 40% off. I was able
to order the color I wanted (black) and although I chose the cheapest
shipping (3 day FedEx) I got the case delivered the morning after
submitting my order. I can't really see any blemishes, perhaps a few
stitches out of place if I look very carefully. I don't have a modem and
don't imagine that I would be carrying one around much in the future. But
the case has enough room to fit my PalmPilot and my tiny FM walkman and
headphones, and spare batteries very easily.
Thanks,

I am somewhat disappointed in the functionality of the RhinoPak 2000. It is designed to
hold the Palm III and modem in it's elastic straps and it does that very well. However,
that is not how I use my Palm Pilot. I use the modem occasionally, but I like to have the
Palm III in my hand or in it's cradle most of the day. I've tried all sorts of other ways
to secure the Palm III and the modem in the case separately, but there is no convenient
way to do so. For now, the modem rests in the inside web pocket and the Pilot just slides
around in the case. For some users, this would be a great case, as there are all sorts of
pockets and flaps to hold items. For me, I would trade some of that for a better method of
holding the Pilot.

I've had my RhinoPak 2000 for about a week now. I purchased the all-black model for it's cutting-edge looks and style. I have a Velo 500 and I needed a small, yet durable case to hold a phone cord for the built-in modem and a place to hold a few extra batteries and a stylus. I also wanted a case with a secure method of containing everything including my Velo without the need for Velcro as I don't want to glue anything to my Velo. I was pleased to find, in my search for the perfect case, that the RhinoPak 2000 from RhinoSkin did all of that with great looks on top of that. I really like the side handle. It makes it so easy to carry everything that I need. I keep my Velo support card in the inside pocket along with my RadioShack PowerZone card and I've organized all of my other accessories into the various pockets throughout the case. I am pleased with the high-quality construction and with all of the loops and straps that offer so many ways to carry it. I'm finding it somewhat amusing that I end up purchasing all of my PDA gear and accessories based generally on what Julie's reviews deem good or outstanding. Well, great minds think alike. Anyway, I'm happy with this case and though $50 may seem steep for a cloth case, I think you'll be equally pleased with the purchase once you receive yours.

Well after 2 travel excursion and lugging my Pilot, modem, cables, user files on
floppy, spare stylus, extra batteries, I decided I needed a case to carry it all.
And the RhinoPak 2000 was the case for me. I ordered it directly from Rhinoskin 2nd
day air and found it delivered to my office in 1 day. Included in the package is the
case and a RhinoSkin sticker. I agree that sometimes the elastic bands get in the
way, but that's my only quibble. But does this thing have plenty of spaces/pockets
to store stuff. The case has several extra loops which lead me to believe that you
can secure this to other paks i.e., a backpack. Bravo to RhinoSkin on making a
sport-ute case for the PalmPilot.
