Gadgeteer Hands On Review: Pilot Pentopia Chameleon

Palm m100
If you have been looking to find the perfect replacement for your Palm m100's stock stylus, I believe I may have found it. The Pilot Pentopia Chameleon Stylus is not only made to fit the m100's silo, but it also has some features that set it ahead of the replacement stylus pack...
First of all, there is a nice wide thumb-grip, so that you can easily remove the stylus from the m100's silo. No "breaking-in" period is necessary. The end of the thumb-grip can also function for pushing the hot-buttons on your PDA
Secondly, there is an incredibly convenient ball-point pen hidden under the afore mentioned thumb-grip. The pen is exposed by snapping the thumb-grip (or pen cap, as it were) on and off.
Just so you know that the ball-point pen isn't all for looks, I found it to wrote smoothly and without skipping when I tested it. Although the length of this pen is a little short (and therefore a bit awkward) to write a long message with; for quick jots you won't be able to beat it.
The stylus end of the chameleon unscrews to reveal and extra long reset pin, which is exactly what you need to reach inside the m100's body and "do the deed".
The actual tip of the Chameleon is something else. It is a bright, easy to see red, and it has a spring action to it that I really enjoy using. I found that it wrote equally well on PDA screens, both with and without protection.
This is the best replacement stylus for the m100 that I have found to date, and I couldn't recommend it more highly.
The Pilot Pentopia Chameleon Stylus for the Palm m100 is available at Stylus Central, and other fine retailers.
